Veterans’ Reading Room at the Claire T. Carney Library
Veterans and service members…
Looking for a quiet place to study and get some work done between classes?
Want a space where you can meet and relax with other veterans?
The Veterans’ Reading Room is just the place! Located on the third floor of the Claire T. Carney Library (Room 354), the room is a short walk away from the Library’s Learning Commons and the suite of services that the library and university computer services offer there, yet it is secluded enough to provide a quiet welcoming space dedicated to your needs. The Veterans’ Reading Room location in the library provides you with the additional benefit of having it open to you all the hours that the library itself is open, which means that it remains available when most other locations on campus are closed.
The room comes complete with a group study table, comfortable chairs, desks, wireless access, plenty of outlets for recharging your equipment, and networked computers with the same software available in the Learning Commons.
The staff of the Claire T. Carney Library joins the university in recognizing the service that you and your comrades have made for our country and we hope to assist you in your transition to academic life. Please make use of the room and tell your fellow veterans about it. If you have any questions about the room or library services please feel free to contact Anne Henley, Senior Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Library Services, at 508-999-8157 or send a message to our Library Administrative Services.
