In accordance with the vision statement of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and the mission statement of the University Library, the Archives and Special Collections unit serves the university and local community by collecting, preserving, providing access to, and interpreting primary resource material on the culture and history of the university and the local region, southeastern Massachusetts.
