ProQuest Science Journals

(ProQuest) - provides indexing and access to hundreds of social science and related fields journals. Most journals included provide full text. The database covers a wide range of social science topics and disciplines including anthropology, economics, political science, area studies, family studies, community health and medical care, psychology and psychiatry, gerontology, gender studies, minority studies, addiction studies, urban studies, minority studies, planning and public administration, policy studies and international relations and more.

PsycINFO

(EBSCO) - PsycINFO contains more than one million citations and summaries of journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations and technical reports in the field of psychology. Journal coverage spans 1887 to present, including international material selected from more than 1,700 periodicals in over 35 languages. More than 60,000 records are added each year. Also includes information about the psychological aspects of related disciplines such as medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, anthropology, business and law. Incorporates searchable full text articles from 43 journals published by the American Psychological Association and 8 from allied organizations. Contains from each of the 51 journals: journal articles, letters to the editor and errata. PsycArticles

PUBMED

(National Center for Biotechnology Information, NLM) - Provides free access to the National Library of Medicine’s MEDLINE database. Includes bibliographic citations and abstracts to articles in more than 4600 journals in the fields of pre-clinical sciences, healthcare, clinical medicine, biomedical research, nursing, allied health, among others. Now includes links to full-text articles in PubMed Central.

Safari

(ProQuest) - Full-text information technology books from Addison-Wesley, Cisco Press, New Riders, O'Reilly and Associates, Peachpit, Prentice Hall, Prentice Hall Professional Technical Reference, Que, and Sams. The library has subscribed to a small collection of Safari books (some books will show up as previews not full-text).

Science In Context

(GALE) - contextual information on hundreds of the most current and significant science topics. Merges reference content with full-text magazines, academic journals, news articles, experiments, images, videos, audio files and links to vetted websites organized into a portal environment.

SciFinder Scholar®

(CAS) - As of June 30, 2011, the UMass Dartmouth Library access to SciFinder Scholar will be via the web version only, the client version has been discontinued; SciFinder Scholar web access is limited to current UMassD students, faculty, and staff. SciFinder Scholar® from American Chemical Society, is the search interface to the Chemical Abstracts and MEDLINE databases. It provides subject coverage that includes the chemical aspects of astronomy, biology, education, engineering, economics, geology, history, mathematics, medicine, and physics.

Web of Science

(Thomson Reuters) - Web of Science (Science Citation Index) traces the references at the end of each paper published in a broad collection of 8000 journals in science and engineering. Use this database most efficiently to discover who has cited a paper written in the past. Our library's subscription covers the references from papers published since 1999.
