IEEE Xplore Digital Library

(IEEE) - Electrical and computer engineering- research and development. Search and retrieve full text of IEEE and IEE/IET publications including transactions and proceedings from more than 120 IEEE journals, 900 active IEEE standards, and the proceedings of 400 annual conferences. The majority of the content dates back to 1988; content from select publications back as far as 1950.

Journal Citation Reports® Science Edition ~ 2010 ONLY ~

(Thomson Reuters) - EXCEL File for 2010 only of the JCR Science Edition contains data from over 7,300 journals in science and technology for the year 2010 ONLY. All of the data that you see for journals and subject categories come from journal data published in 2010. If you search for a particular journal, you will see the 2010 data for that journal, including -- The number of articles published in the journal in 2010, the number of citations to that journal from articles published in 2010, and the Impact Factor calculated from 2010 data, and so on.

National Technical Reports Library (NTRL)

The NTRL provides access to the NTIS (National Technical Information Service) content collection.  It contains over 3 million records with over 800,000 full-text reports. The NTRL is updated each week with newly acquired information and recently digitized existing content. It is a convenient and economical means of accessing the most comprehensive library of federally produced scientific and technical information available. Although NTRL is a publicly accessible database, first time users must register.

Search for United States patents 1790 to present through the Patent and Trademark Office (United States). Patents issued since 1976 in full text. full-page imagesare available since 1790. NOTE: Patents from 1790 through 1975 are searchable only by Patent Number and Current US Classification!

ProQuest Biology Journals

(ProQuest) provides access to a wide range of biology topics. The database includes just under 400 titles, with more than 325 available in full text. With thousands of articles available online.

ProQuest Computing

ProQuest Military Collection

(ProQuest) - "A comprehensive collection of material on military subjects such as defense, aeronautics and space flight, civil engineering, political science, and more".

(ProQuest) - "Full text and images for the leading periodicals in science and technology. Subject coverage includes computers, engineering, physics, telecommunications, and transportation".


(National Center for Biotechnology Information, NLM) - Provides free access to the National Library of Medicine’s MEDLINE database. Includes bibliographic citations and abstracts to articles in more than 4600 journals in the fields of pre-clinical sciences, healthcare, clinical medicine, biomedical research, nursing, allied health, among others. Now includes links to full-text articles in PubMed Central.

(US Govt.) - United States government science cross-agency portal. Search for full text documents and reports of U.S. agencies.

SciFinder Scholar®

(CAS) - As of June 30, 2011, the UMass Dartmouth Library access to SciFinder Scholar will be via the web version only, the client version has been discontinued; SciFinder Scholar web access is limited to current UMassD students, faculty, and staff. SciFinder Scholar® from American Chemical Society, is the search interface to the Chemical Abstracts and MEDLINE databases. It provides subject coverage that includes the chemical aspects of astronomy, biology, education, engineering, economics, geology, history, mathematics, medicine, and physics.

TRAIL Technical Report Archive & Image Library

A searchable digital collection of unclassified U.S.A. federal technical reports issued prior to 1975. These federal reports have been digitized to ensure their availability after the agency responsible for producing them ceased.or changed responsibilities. Questions? Web of Science

(Thomson Reuters) - Web of Science (Science Citation Index) traces the references at the end of each paper published in a broad collection of 8000 journals in science and engineering. Use this database most efficiently to discover who has cited a paper written in the past. Our library's subscription covers the references from papers published since 1999.

WebCSD (Cambridge Structural Database/CSD)

WebCSD (Cambridge Structural Database/CSD) is a repository of small-molecule organic and metal-organic crystal structures. Containing the results of over half-a-million x-ray and neutron diffraction analyses this is a unique database of accurate 3D structures.  CSD provides a comprehensive and retrospective coverage of the published literature. The CSD is continually updated with new structures and with improvements to existing entries.
